2023 - 2024 Review
Professional development of KS1/KS2 teachers
Impact
Full-time sports coach hired to provide excellent teaching practice for PE lessons. This will increase teachers’ subject knowledge, skills and confidence to provide high-quality lessons and building capacity to deliver the best P.E. provision. Sports coach will also deliver sports clubs 4 days per week after school.
Comments
Sports Coach was employed 4 days per week teaching additional PE lessons across the school in KS1 and KS2. This was in addition to a slot that they had with their class teacher. The Sports coach also delivered a sports club 4 days per week from September to April. The impact of this is that children have received more PE curriculum time and had exposure to a range of sports clubs being delivered by an expert.
PE and Outdoor education leadership
Impact
Identified leader of PE and Outdoor Education across the school to improve provision and provide model lessons and staff training.
Comments
This additional funding was provided as an additional pay to a member of staff to focus on leading sports competitions, resourcing of sporting equipment and enrichment. This has been incredibly impactful as we have been involved in multiple competitions across the school year. These have included: Football Festivals, KS1, KS2 and KS2 Girl’s Football Leagues, LAT Cluster Sports, Cricket Club Visit, Swimming Galas and Athletics.

As part of our extensive sports offer here at Marden, going to competitions is vitally important but where we are situated, means that transport can be a challenge. Being able to use this money has made attending events, such as those mentioned before, possible. All children selected for competitions were able to attend without finances becoming an issue
