The School Day

  • Breakfast Club: 7.40am – 8.30am
  • Morning Session: 8.45 am – 11.55 am (KS1) or 12.05 pm (KS2)
  • Afternoon Session: 1.00 pm – 3.00 pm
  • After school clubs: 3.00 pm- 4.00 pm

The organisation allows for 22 hours and 5 minutes for lesson time for KS1 children and 23 hours 20 minutes for KS2 children per week.

Morning school commences at 8.45 am (the bell rings at 8.43 am). Children are not allowed on the school premises before 8.30 am, unless they attend Breakfast Club.  Staff are on duty each morning in the playground from 8.30 am until school commences. Your child will be met at the school gate by the staff on duty and supervised in the playground. We ask that parents leave their children once they have entered through the pupil gate. If you wish to come into school in the morning, please use the vehicular gate and main entrance. The pupil gate is locked after the whistle. If you arrive late after the gate is locked you should bring your child to the office via the main entrance and sign the late book.

We would encourage you to walk to school wherever possible. If you need to drive to school:

  • Please do not park on or opposite the zig-zag lines as this is an offence.
  • Please do not block entrances and exits to private houses.
  • Please do not park in the Memorial Hall car park as this is used by pre-school staff.

At the end of the school day, just before 3:00 pm, the pupil gates are opened so parents can come and wait on the infant playground to collect their children. Early Years children are released from their outside classroom door and all KS1 children are released from doors leading onto the infant playground once their parent or carer is there to collect them.

There is a Breakfast Club available from 7.40 am. Please contact the office or look on the Breakfast Club website page under the Parents tab.

There is also a wide range of clubs which run from 3.00 pm until 4.00 pm at the end of the school day.  A form comes home at the end of the previous term for parents to sign their children up for clubs,  or you can see our clubs section on the website under the Parents tab.
