Children will leave Marden Primary Academy with a depth and breadth of knowledge and understanding of historical time periods, chronology and key events, both in England and internationally. Children will develop skills to be able to identify and analyse the usefulness of historical sources whilst enjoying a rich and varied curriculum with links to the community.

The subject leader will work with SLT and subjects specialists to develop the effective teaching of History across the school. Teachers are all clear of, and supported to reach, the end goals for all pupils and are supported to know how assessment can be used to ensure all children make excellent progress in History.

Children will be confident historians with a strong grasp of historical and chronological knowledge and the ability to analyse sources and their effectiveness. Children will demonstrate the use of Fundamental British Values and apply them through their learning of History. Children will produce high quality work that demonstrates their knowledge and application of History across the PYP curriculum
